How to leave your day at the door

Do you ever days where you were determined they would be great but all attempts at #positivity fail. If your human the answer is yes. One morning I was talking to my friend and she was telling me how her morning wasnt going well and she felt pretty average. I immediatly shut her down saying "the day has only just begun!" and to my suprise she said "Anna it's ok to feel average or sad somedays". Immediatly I was like negativity is a choice and next thing I know I woke up the next day and guess what I felt average and I surrendered to it. I am not undermining the power of choice and positive thoughts but its ok to be at peace with your feelings and your health and just feel it. So with this in mind here are a couple of things I do on days where I need to leave my S*#T at the door.

Have a shower, it will literally wash of your day. This is a recent habit of mine (yes I do shower I'm not gross). Whilst you can believe what you believe I do think we carry some bad energy sometimes and to wash away the day and feel clean is to cleanse our mind to.

After I use my favourite essential oils and rub a dub dub all over. If its nightime I dilute organic lavender oil in some almond oil and focus it on my footsies and chest/neck area. In my experience its especially relaxing and makes me smell nice. CAUTION: not recomended if you have low blood pressure, please do your own research on what works for you in regards to dilutions and products.

I then spritz my room with you guesed it more lavander ( a homemade lavender spray you can find recipes all over the internet for). I spritz my bed, pillows, doorway etc and sometimes say just a little something to let go of the day and welcome relaxation into the space.

I also love yoga and practice using the Downward Dog app (it's free) as I can alter it to fit my needs. Most days I like the restorative setting and set it for around 20 minutes.  The playlists are great and you can do as little as a 10 minute session or a full class, also they have all sorts of levels.

Tea and grattitude - I make a cup of tumeric, fennel and ginger tea and do some me time. Sometimes this looks like writing in my grattitude guided journal, pulling angel cards, meditating or journalling. I do something that allows me to reflect, process and let go so the next day can be better.

Remember my loves, its ok to be human, to feel but everyday is an opportunity. The sun will never  not rise. Feel but also live and if you feel down or angry most days than get help in whatever shape that looks for you.
